Data Cabling Engineer |
- Installs, tests, repairs, audits, and maintains structured cabling systems from Panduit, Belden, and Hubbell.
- Audit and test existing cabling systems for functionality and compliance with standards.
- Design and install new cabling infrastructures.
- Perform site surveys to determine data cabling requirements, and prepare proposals for clients based on findings.
- Travel on a national scale to perform installations and surveys (travels could peak at 80% at times).
- Coordinate and multi-task on numerous projects simultaneously to successfully install sites.
- Perform to identified standards and best practices to deliver consistent results.
- Able to read and understand basic wiring/architectural diagrams.
- Prepare and file site surveys and drawings.
- Converse with site personnel to obtain installation information.
- Knowledge of design and creativity.
- Able to work from ladders, lifts, or scaffolding as required.
- Ability to use power tools and electronic test equipment.
- Responsible for maintain cabling tool kits.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds numerous times per day.
- Must be able to rent a vehicle while traveling.
