PowerUP Terms of Service – Rules for the Road
All members of AOL and PowerUP are expected to abide by our rules of the road:
- Never give out personal information like your name, address, phone number or password.
- Keep it clean -- avoid using curse words or offensive language. If you use bad language, you could lose your PowerUP account.
- Treat others online with respect. If someone is bothering you or makes you feel uncomfortable, tell your teacher or another adult right away.
- Don't pretend to be someone you are not, such as a celebrity or other AOL member.
- Stay safe: Never make plans to meet an online "friend" in person without asking your parents first.
- Never accept things from strangers (like email, files, links or the addresses for Web sites).
- Be courteous -- no spamming. Spamming means sending the same e-mail to many people or posting the same message over and over again.
- Don't post stuff that doesn't belong to you, including photos and other copyrighted material. No posting of copyrighted material, including published written material, photographs and non-licensed music files or software. Even though you might like to download new music for free, it is against the law to do so unless you download from a licensed Web site.
- PowerUP is a place to learn and have fun, not to start a business, so don't advertise or try to sell things online. If you do so, you could lose your PowerUP account.
